AVweb's photo of the day for October 5 shows aircraft flying in formation at the California International Airshow. Anyone who has flown a single-pilot jet on a busy arrival knows how much work it takes to hold one airplane exactly where it belongs. Formation work asks every pilot in the group to do that at once, a few feet from a wingman, with no room for drift. It's skill that owners can appreciate more than most, and it was on display over California.
