Tecnam Pitches the P2008JC NG as a Part 23 Replacement for U.S. Training Fleets
Tecnam has a Part 23 trainer, the P2008JC NG, and it is selling the airplane to schools in the United States. The pitch is about economics as much as hardware: a newer airframe that costs less to run than the older trainers most American training operators still fly. The certification basis matters to anyone who has run an airplane on a flight line. A Part 23 type sits in the same regulatory framework as the aircraft its students will move up to, and that is the framework most of our readers' own airplanes were built under. Every pilot who ends up in the left seat of a turboprop or a light jet starts in something like this, so the quality of the training airplane is an owner's concern, even if it is a few steps removed.
