After Two Decades, a Dance Company Renames Itself for the Long Run

The dance company known for twenty years as A.I.M by Kyle Abraham now has a new name: Kyle Abraham Dance Vanguard. A new name for an established institution is a little like a new name over the door of a well-kept house. The rooms are the same, but the owners are saying how they mean to live there from now on. In a conversation about the change, the choreographer talked about how the company has grown, how it backs the dancers and artists who work with it, and where it goes next.
