Along the High Line, a Golden Form Settles In at The Standard
A gilded sculptural piece has taken up residence along the High Line, installed at The Standard as the New York stop for a touring global art and heritage platform. The work, titled "auruBOROS," comes from the Berlin-based duo Plastique Fantastique and is shaped to appear as though it winds along the elevated park's path. Its perch sits at the meeting point of the rail-trail and the hotel's glass tower, a site that has hosted plenty of public art but rarely a piece built to trace the line's own curve. No sale or price attaches to the installation — it is on view, not on the market, for as long as it remains along the High Line.
