Aspen Earns Its Name All Over Again This Fall

Meteorologists have named this year's prime American leaf-peeping corridor as running from New England to California, and Aspen falls within that stretch. The trees that gave the town its name are the same ones now turning gold on the hillsides above it. Houses built along those slopes get an unmatched vantage for the next few weeks, their windows and porches facing hills that look nothing like this the rest of the year. It is one more reason the town's name was never just a name.
