In Bennington, a Restored Seminary Gives Rise to a New Hospitality House
The Seminary, a landmark restoration project in Bennington, Vermont, has become the launching point for a new venture. Rafe Churchill and Casey Sunderland, the pair behind that restoration, are formalizing their work under the name Place in Mind, a hospitality group focused on architecturally significant hotels and inns. The group's stated purpose is resurrection rather than replacement — bringing historic properties back into use while preserving what made them significant in the first place. It is, for now, a name and a mission more than a portfolio, with The Seminary standing as its founding example.
