Bette Davis said she lived in at least 75 houses over the course of her life, a run of addresses that carried the two-time Oscar winner from coast to coast. "I acquired houses as other women acquire jewels," she once said, describing an appetite for real estate that outpaced any single career or marriage. Architectural Digest has now traced that itinerary in a new tour of her homes, from Hollywood to the far side of the country. The figure alone — 75, by her own count — says more about how she chose to live than any one address could.
