The Contractor on Brandon Blackwood's Brooklyn Town House Was His Mother

Brandon Blackwood, who designs clothing and accessories, has renovated a town house in Brooklyn. His mother ran the job as its contractor. She was the person responsible for the work being done properly, from the first trade on site to the last finish. She also added a skylight that her son didn't know about until it was in, and it now lets daylight in from overhead. A town house is usually a long, narrow building, and light from above can make a real difference in one. Many houses in New York are renovated, but few are built by a parent for a child, and in this one he will see that gift whenever the sun comes through. The house has not been put on the market, and no price is attached to this story. It is about a house and the people who made it.
