The First Commission: Students Are Bringing in Designers for the Residence Hall

For a growing number of college students, the first room anyone designs for them is a residence hall room. Painstaking decoration has moved from optional to nearly expected, and many students now treat a finished, considered space as part of how they settle into campus life. The poster pinned to cinderblock is giving way to rooms planned with the same care as a home. The house has always been the first place a family's taste shows, and this autumn some of that taste is moving into campus housing.
