First Keys, Then the Linen Closet: Architectural Digest Names Its 2026 Starter Home List

Architectural Digest has published its 2026 roster of starter home essentials, a guide to the basics a new owner needs once the closing is done and the rooms are still empty. The selection runs across three categories: bedding, bath, and kitchenware. The magazine says these are the pieces its own editors turn to when they move, upgrade, or furnish a place from scratch. For a buyer carrying boxes into a first house, it is a shortlist for the drawers and shelves before any thought of the furniture.
