A Guadalajara Sensibility Arrives in a Brooklyn Loft
Designer Sofía Beas has turned an industrial loft in Brooklyn into her own home, and the conversion carries a distinctly Mexican accent. The rooms draw on Guadalajara, her home city, and on the architectural language of Luis Barragán, whose handling of color, light and volume has shaped generations of Mexican design. Architectural Digest describes Beas as a rising star of the design world, and the loft as something closer to a laboratory than a finished statement — a space still being worked out on its own terms.
