Harlem Gallery Brings Three Puerto Rican Artists to Atlanta for Its First Showing at the Fair
Claire Oliver Gallery, based in Harlem, appeared at the Atlanta Art Fair for the first time this season, during the fair's run from October 1 through October 4. It built its presentation around the work of three artists from Puerto Rico. For a New York dealer, a first fair in a new city is a decision about which artists to send. Claire Oliver sent three who share an island. One of the works shown was Erica Morales's "Who's That Girl?", dated 2026. Morales made it with aerosol paint and ornamental cut-paper collage on a paper ground. Spray paint and decorative collage come from different traditions, and Morales uses both in one piece. A collector standing in front of it would want to know how the layers were put down. No sale price for the piece has been made public, and this desk does not guess at one. What is on the record is the gallery, the artists' common origin, the fair, the dates and the work.
