A Fall Campaign Finds Its Muse in a Cuban Master

· 1 min read

Designer Rachel Scott has built Diotima's new fall campaign around the work of Wilfredo Lam, drawing specifically on his "Femme Cheval" series for its visual language. The campaign carries forward the Afro-Cuban symbolism central to Lam's paintings, along with the themes of identity and spirituality he explored across his career. It also reaches into the anti-colonial history that shaped his art, giving the collection a point of reference well beyond the runway. For a house built on craft and reference, pairing a seasonal collection with a painter of Lam's stature is itself a kind of collecting — borrowing not an object but an artist's way of seeing.
