Old Hands, New Color: The Design Debuts Collectors Are Watching

New work is entering the design market this season along two distinct paths worth a collector's attention. One is a run of wicker poufs finished by hand in loose washes of aquatic color, treated less like seating and more like small paintings. The other looks backward rather than forward: Japanese furniture designs long out of production, now remade by the same artisans who originally shaped them. Together they make the case that the most interesting launches right now are as much about revival as invention.
