Sagaponack Grounds Itself in Its Own Terrain

On the East End, LaGuardia Design Group has reworked a large Sagaponack property, letting color, texture, and scale carry the design rather than the usual Hamptons formula of lawn and hedge. The scale of the estate gives the firm room to treat the landscape itself as the main event, with plantings and materials doing the work that a pool house or a porch might elsewhere. The result reads less like a backdrop to the house and more like a considered piece of design in its own right.
