For the Shirleys, Calder Stewardship Runs From Seattle to the Senate Building

Jon and Kim Shirley, longtime collectors of Alexander Calder, have stepped in to help restore the artist's celebrated sculpture at the Senate Building. It is a familiar role for the couple: in 2023, their devotion to Calder's work became public when they donated 48 of his pieces to the Seattle Art Museum. Now that same care extends to a Calder standing in one of the country's most storied buildings, kept in trust by two collectors who have made his legacy their own.
