Virginia Museum Adds Five Names to Its Permanent Collection
The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts has announced a round of new acquisitions, adding works by Adam Pendleton and Jaune Quick-to-See Smith to its holdings. The museum also brought in pieces by Tuan Andrew Nguyen, the nineteenth-century photographer Nadar, and filmmaker Kevin Jerome Everson. The additions span painting, photography, and film, reflecting a collection built across mediums and eras rather than around a single genre. For a museum collection, an acquisition of this range says as much about institutional taste as any single work does.
