2026 Mustang RTR: Anti-Lag and a Drift Brake Come to the EcoBoost Mustang

· 1 min read

The 2026 Ford Mustang RTR uses the four-cylinder EcoBoost engine and adds chassis hardware taken from the Dark Horse. It also gets an anti-lag system and a hand-operated drift brake, both features meant for drivers who enjoy driving hard. Road & Track drove the car and found that the package turns the smaller-engine Mustang into a serious performance machine and a very enjoyable one. For owners who have thought of the EcoBoost as the gentler Mustang, Road & Track's verdict is a reason to look at it again.

With reporting from Road & Track.
