Corvette's Chief Leaves the Door Open to a Z06X
The man who runs Corvette and GM Performance, Tony Roma, has told The Drive that a Z06X is a possibility he does not dismiss. Asked about the variant that enthusiasts have been requesting, Roma allowed that such a car might have a place in the lineup, while cautioning that Chevrolet's engineers are capable of building nearly anything but cannot pursue every idea at once. The question GM is putting back to the faithful is whether they would spend close to ZR1 territory for it. For owners who follow the Bowling Green build sheets as closely as the auction tent, that is the first on-the-record signal that the idea is being weighed at the top rather than only on the forums.
