Arin Ahnell, chief executive of AutoTuner USA, has given The Drive an account of how tuners get into engine computers that manufacturers have sealed against outside access. The work covers a wide range of machines, from electric vehicles to farm tractors. Ahnell also said which BMW engine the AutoTuner USA team is now working on, and enthusiasts of the Munich marque will be watching for it. For owners who still treat the car as something to be understood and refined, it is good to know that skill at the keyboard is keeping pace with what comes off the line.
