Bottas Strings Together a Second Straight Stakes Win, This Time at Kentucky Downs

Bottas, a son of the sire Vekoma, took Monday's Gun Runner Stakes at Kentucky Downs, the Franklin, Kentucky circuit known for its European-style turf course and its short, closely watched meet. The victory followed a win in the Grade 2 Hall of Fame Stakes at Saratoga on Aug. 7, giving the colt two stakes wins in a row across two of the sport's more distinctive summer venues. The Gun Runner, named for the champion sire and Breeders' Cup Classic winner, sits among the marquee turf tests on the Kentucky Downs card. Bottas now carries that back-to-back form into the fall stakes calendar.
