Five Years In, Women of the Turf Convene in Kentucky
The Horse Racing Women's Association gathered in Kentucky horse country for its yearly conference, the fifth time the organization has brought its members together under one roof. The meeting arrived in a season when women across the sport have been setting new marks, and the program gave those in the room a chance to take stock of how far the ground has shifted. That the gathering has reached its fifth edition is itself a measure of standing, since a conference that returns five years running has become part of the racing calendar rather than an experiment. Held in the Bluegrass, among the farms and sales grounds where so much of the American Thoroughbred is made, the setting suited the subject.
