The victory came by 1 3/4 lengths over the runner-up, Heirsuta, who went off as the second choice. Rescue Dawn is a daughter of Jackie's Warrior, and her front-running trip at the Spa marks the first look at what the young sire's stock can do on the track. For a barn breaking in a first-crop runner, a clean wire-to-wire maiden score at one of the sport's most storied ovals is about as good a start as it gets.
