Jockeys' Guild Education Foundation Now a Registered Non-Profit, With a Classroom to Match
The Jockeys' Guild Education Foundation, which opened its doors this past April, has been granted official non-profit status and marked the occasion with the launch of an Academic Success Program. The initiative was built in partnership with the Workforce Solutions department at Bluegrass Community and Technical College, the Lexington-area school long tied to Kentucky's horse country. For a profession built on the backstretch and the winner's circle, the foundation's mission points toward a different kind of preparation, one meant to sit alongside the daily work of riding. The non-profit designation gives the young organization a formal footing as it builds out that academic offering.
