Keeneland's Dawn Patrol: Golden Tempo, Englishman and Napoleon Solo Turn In Their Work
The Breeders' Cup World Championships are a fortnight off at Keeneland, and the serious business of the meeting has already begun before most of Lexington is awake. Golden Tempo, Englishman and Napoleon Solo were among the horses out on the track in the first light, each putting in preparation toward the championship days ahead. It is the quiet stretch of the calendar that regulars prize most, when the grandstand is empty and the only sound is a set of hooves coming down the stretch in the half dark. Two weeks from now the same ground will be full.
