The Microphone Goes Quiet at Turf Paradise

Vic Stauffer, the call of the races at Turf Paradise, is stepping away from announcing for good, the track said Friday. Stauffer had already left the booth once before, then returned to call the Turf Paradise meet, a second act that gave fans and horsemen alike a familiar voice down the stretch. Now that second chapter is closing, and the strip in Phoenix will need a new man on the microphone.
