A New Name Surfaces As Del Mar's Summer Meet Winds Down

· 1 min read

In the closing days of Del Mar's 2026 summer season, one first-time starter gave the seaside oval a reason to take notice. Imperial Honor, a two-year-old colt by Honor A.P. out of Seeking Mo Jewel, made his unveiling count, and Thoroughbred Daily News tapped him as a new Rising Star for the effort. The colt races for the partnership of Pegram, Watson and Weitman, names familiar to anyone who follows the game's top tables. It is the kind of debut that turf watchers file away — a young horse announcing himself just as the meet that produced him prepares to close its gates for the year.

With reporting from Thoroughbred Daily News.
