Original Sin got the edge in a competitive field to win the 45th running of the Goodwood Stakes at Santa Anita Park, taking home the lion's share of a $300,000 purse. Forty-five runnings is a considerable history for any stakes race to carry, and this year's field did nothing to make it easy — the kind of tight going that keeps a result in doubt until a horse actually crosses the line. Original Sin did, and the connections leave Arcadia with the biggest check the card had to offer.
