Santa Anita Gives Its Jockeys a Room Worthy of the Winner's Circle

Santa Anita Park has finished a summer's worth of work on its jockey kitchen, reopening it as the newly renovated Jockey's Diner, a dedicated space built for the men and women who ride there. The project took the track's original crew dining room and gave it a full refresh rather than a patch job. For a track that asks its riders to be at the gate before sunrise and back again for stakes racing in the afternoon, a proper place to sit down between mounts is its own kind of care for the backstretch.
