Take Charge Star (Ire) Crosses First in the Franklin-Simpson at Kentucky Downs

· 1 min read

Take Charge Star (Ire) won the Franklin-Simpson Stakes at Kentucky Downs during the 2026 meet, another graded stakes result at the Franklin, Kentucky course to fall to a European-based horse. The win keeps intact a run of graded stakes success for Team Europe at Kentucky Downs that has held for several years running, according to Thoroughbred Daily News. For a track that draws its graded fields from both sides of the Atlantic, it was one more trip to the winner's circle for the visiting colors.
