The American SetUpstart's Runners Deliver a Banner Day at Churchill Downs
High Speed Reed crossed the wire well clear at Churchill Downs, under the track's famed Twin Spires, and was named a Thoroughbred Daily News Rising Star for the effort. Less than 24 hours earlier, another runner by the same sire, Upstart, Manuka Honey, had broken through as a graded winner. Two such distinctions for one stallion's runners inside a single day made for a notable stretch at the Louisville oval this week.
