Case Clay, U.S. racing manager for Wathnan Racing, sat for the Thoroughbred Daily News Writers' Room podcast this week to discuss a year that has kept climbing. Wathnan, the operation founded in 2022 by Qatar's Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani, saw that year grow bigger still last Saturday at Saratoga. Clay's appearance gave listeners a firsthand account of how the outfit is being built and run at the highest level of the American sport. It is the kind of season that earns an owner's man a seat at the table.
