Airbnb Says Its Experiences Are Starting to Draw the People Who Live Here

· 1 min read

Brian Chesky, Airbnb's chief executive, says the company's Experiences business has begun to attract residents as well as visitors. That puts Airbnb at odds with how the larger names in the business usually work, since they sell their outings to people passing through town. For a reader in Palm Beach, Nashville or Aspen, the idea is simple: the kind of Experience you might book on a trip could be one you book in your own town. Whether Airbnb can keep going in that direction is still an open question, but Chesky's view is that it has made a start.
