A Cask-Strength Pour Lands on the Back Bar

Knob Creek has bottled its 12-year-old bourbon at full barrel strength, skipping the usual dilution to proof and letting the whiskey stand as it came out of the cask. The original 12-year has long been one of Jim Beam's most respected bottles, and the higher-proof version is reported to be excellent — bigger, more concentrated, the kind of pour a good bar keeps in reach for guests who know to ask for it. It is a stronger edition of an already trusted name, not a new one.
