The Super Bowl Effect Reaches the Dining Room Before Any Ad Campaign Does

· 1 min read

A Super Bowl, a World Cup, an Olympics — the lift touches every restaurant and hotel in the host city well before a tourism board gets to claim credit for it. Destination marketing organizations are often limited to promoting a city around a marquee event, not through it, even as the event itself pulls in the crowds. For the dining rooms and front desks filling up that week, the reservation never asks whose campaign brought it in.
