Blue Beetle Actor Gets the Call Every Franchise Star Hopes For

Xolo Maridueña spent months not knowing if his DC superhero would return to screens, then received a personal call from studio chief James Gunn about joining the upcoming "Superman" sequel. The Beverly Hills-based DC Studios head delivered the news himself, giving the young star confirmation that his crime-fighting character has a future in the expanding franchise.
