Netflix Lines Up a Best Actress Campaign for Jeon Do-yeon This Awards Season

Netflix intends to campaign for Lee Chang-dong's Korean-language film "Possible Love" at the Academy Awards, with Jeon Do-yeon put forward in the lead actress category. The streaming company is backing both the picture and its star as awards season gets under way. The effort arrives seven cycles after "Parasite" cleared the way for films not in English to compete at the highest level of the Academy's honors. For readers here, where the awards calendar shapes the winter, it places a Korean drama and its lead performer among the titles to watch in the months ahead. Netflix has not been reported to have detailed the scope of the campaign beyond the film and the actress it is supporting.
