Captain America Held Onto a Hollywood Hills House for Thirteen Years, and It Paid Off

Chris Evans has sold his home in the Hollywood Hills for $5.4 million, closing out a stretch of ownership that stretches back to 2013, when the Marvel star paid $3.5 million for the mountain-view property. That is a nearly $2 million gain over thirteen years, the kind of number that would turn heads even along the waterfront from Palm Beach to Naples, where holding a property that long without flipping it is practically an act of restraint. Out here, patience like that usually gets rewarded too, just with a different view. Evans's sale is a reminder that a good house, held long enough, tends to do right by whoever bought it early.
