Nashville's Two Biggest Rights Organizations Throw One Room a Party

ASCAP and BMI put their usual rivalry aside this week to co-host a celebration for Dylan Scott, whose latest single reached No. 1 on two different charts at once. The gathering brought together members of the music community along with the singer's friends and family at Commons Club, the kind of clubby, members-only room that has become a preferred stage for Nashville's industry to mark its wins quietly rather than loudly. It is a reminder that in this town, the biggest nights are not always the award shows — sometimes they are a room full of the people who actually made the record happen.
