A 1973 Piper Arrow Gets a Second Life With a Modern Panel

A PA-28R-200 Arrow built in 1973 has surfaced as a top pick in Flying's AircraftForSale roundup, and the reason is the panel, not the airframe's age. The Arrow's retractable gear has always made it a credible step-up single for owners moving past fixed-gear trainers, and this example pairs that platform with a glass cockpit and a digital autopilot rather than the analog gauges most 1970s Pipers still carry. Listing notes also point to a solid useful load, the kind of number that matters more to an owner running fuel and baggage math than any styling detail. It is a reminder that in the owner-flown singles market, avionics upgrades can do as much for an airplane's value as the year on its data plate.
