Owner-Pilots Get a First Cut of the FAA's Medication List
The FAA has released the initial edition of MedGuide, a reference meant to tell pilots which drugs they can take and still legally occupy the left seat. This first release is deliberately narrow: it covers only the medications the agency has already cleared, and nothing else. Later editions are expected to broaden the list to include drugs permitted under certain conditions, as well as those the FAA rules out entirely. For the owner who holds a medical certificate and flies their own airplane, it is a single place to check before a prescription becomes a grounding question.
