A 25-Year-Old Coast Guard C-37A Lands Safely, and the Airframe Gets Some of the Credit
DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin was aboard the Coast Guard C-37A when it made an emergency landing, and he later made a point of praising the flight crew. The C-37A is the military's version of the Gulfstream V, entered service in 2002, and is closing in on a quarter-century of use. For an airframe that far into its service life, a clean emergency landing says something about the jet itself, not just the hands flying it.
