A docked aircraft sits ready in Alaska, caught in a rare stretch of clear skies over the water. For operators who base equipment on floats, a dock and a calm sunny window are the whole operation — no runway required, no terminal, just water deep enough and weather good enough. Alaska remains one of the few places in the country where that arrangement is still routine rather than novelty. The picture asks nothing more of the reader than to notice how little infrastructure this kind of flying actually needs.
