Contract Tower Upgrade Bill Gains Ground

Legislation moving through Congress would give federal contract towers wider access to ADS-B-based traffic displays, along with the training to use them. For owners who route through contract-tower fields rather than major terminals, the measure points toward controllers working with the same traffic picture increasingly standard at larger airports. The bill has not yet been signed into law.
