Electra Demonstrator Lands Fixed-Wing on Helicopter-Only Ground

Electra says its fixed-wing demonstrator has begun operating out of locations built for rotorcraft, not conventional runways. The aircraft used instrument procedures modeled on vertical-flight operations rather than standard fixed-wing approach patterns. For an owner used to thinking of heliports and STOL strips as separate worlds, the test points toward fixed-wing aircraft sharing infrastructure long reserved for helicopters.
