Electric Light-Sport Category Gets Its Four-Seat Moment

The FAA's MOSAIC rule rewrote what qualifies as a light-sport aircraft, and Cosmic Aerospace built accordingly. The Cosmic One seats four and runs entirely on electric propulsion, a configuration the old light-sport rules did not allow. Cosmic Aerospace says the aircraft takes up nearly every new allowance MOSAIC makes available. For owners tracking where the line between light-sport and certified aircraft is headed, it is an early data point.
