The Air Force has committed to the T-7A Red Hawk as the trainer that will eventually replace the T-38C fleet at Sheppard Air Force Base. Up to 131 of the new jets are covered under the selection. The changeover is not immediate — the current T-38Cs are set to begin standing down only in 2034.
