A 1979 Rockwell Commander 114A has surfaced on AircraftForSale as one of the marketplace's top picks, and the case for it is mechanical rather than cosmetic. The airframe carries trailing-link main landing gear, a geometry that absorbs touchdown loads more evenly than the conventional gear legs found on most single-engine aircraft of its era. Aerodynamic refinements added to the airframe address some of the drag penalties standard to a late-1970s Commander. The panel has been brought current with updated glass avionics, narrowing the gap between a four-decade-old airframe and the instrumentation buyers expect today.
