Bell Breaks Through at Darlington to Open the Chase

· 1 min read

Christopher Bell took the checkered flag at the Southern 500, his first Cup Series win in nearly a year and the result that opens his run through the NASCAR Playoffs. The victory came after a season in which Bell crossed the line second seven times, a run of near misses at some of the circuit's toughest ovals before Darlington's raceway finally turned in his favor. For a driver who spent 2026 close but not quite there, the win at one of stock car racing's most storied tracks marks the moment the margin finally closed.
