Chevrolet's New Corvette Grand Sport X Inherits the E-Ray's Bones, Not Its Hybrid Heart

Chevrolet has introduced the 2027 Corvette Grand Sport X, a 721-horsepower coupe built on the chassis and underpinnings first developed for the E-Ray, the brand's hybrid Corvette. Where the E-Ray paired a V8 with an electric motor, the Grand Sport X drops the battery hardware in favor of an LS6 V8 doing the work alone. Pricing starts at $114,000. Chevrolet frames the car as both a successor to the E-Ray and a distinct model in its own right, carrying the platform forward under a new name and a different approach to power.
